Wednesday, February 4 2009. Although the snowpack is down on the usual average (as in most of B.C) conditions were great. 20 cm of fresh on Monday on top of a 150 cm base along with no crowds meant that there were lots of fresh lines to be had.
Temps were above freezing at the bottom but at the top it was a more comfortable -3 or so. The T bar at the West Bowl hadn't been open since last Friday so we had first tracks as no one else seemed willing to take the long ride down the cat track at seven mile. There were also lots of freshies to be had along the towers of the Burfield chair to the mid station.

It was hard to believe how uncrowded it was. On many lines at the top of Tod Mountain there were often only the two of us in sight and even on the lower elevations on Morrissey we could ride right up to the chair without unstrapping.
