A fine first morning of 2009.
Temperature of –9, light winds. The snow started falling again early this morning and has continued throughout the day. 15 cm in total on a 145 cm base. Pretty well all areas of the resort now have excellent coverage and the snow in the glades is particularly good.

Lots of straight down lines on the back side, Larch and Wee Willie were particularly good as the snow was soft and deep in the hollows near the trees and you could do lots of big slashing turns and cover yourself with snow. I finally got into the centre of Silver Meadows, the snow is fast enough now so that you can keep your speed up and float through the shallow pitches in the middle without getting bogged as long as you keep your turns smooth and gentle.

Everyone appears to have had a rowdy New Years Even and slept in - there were no lines. By noon my legs were pretty well gone from continuous riding.

May have to do this again tomorrow if it keeps snowing! Happy New Year from Silver Star.
