The white stuff has returned
A couple of 5 cm falls over the past 10 days have meant a slight freshening but we have all been starved for some new powder. On the bright side, temperatures have stayed moderate so the base has remained in pretty good condition at 150 cm. This has meant that the on piste riding has been the best choice although a few stashes of soft snow have remained off the edges of runs or through the woods near the machine trails used by patrol -which only the locals seem to know about

Things improved dramatically today with a 20 cm fall overnight. All the blacks and double blacks on the back side are in top condition at the moment and we finally got to run Free Fall without worrying about rocks, ice or willows! Perfect day for a tapered board and I really enjoyed running the Fish down Northern Lights, Blue Moon and Uncle Buck. The natural hits in the glades at Silver Meadows were great and we had lots of fun (and some great crashes) in the deep snow. It was snowing again this afternoon so most areas of the hill should be in good shape for the rest of the week.
