| Its finally dumping big style and just in the nick of time the pistes were definitely feeling it lately with all the wind and sun and were hard packed and icy; but as of sunday lunchtime it started to dump and at the time of writing (tuesday 8pm) its barely let off for an hour. |

The mountain is powder town and everywhere you go its pristine untouched off-piste, for the last 2 or 3 days theres been barely a soul on the mountain and its felt like a private mountain for us. havent touched a single tracked piece of pow yet.
Anyone whos waiting for a last minute jump to the alps needs to hit it up sharpish, theres no one here and shocking amounts of snow bucketing down. I imagine Verbier will be tracked out pretty quickly knowing it, but here will have plenty of fresh for a long time yet.
On another note the park has 2 new additions, a spine with a oil drum to tap or bonk or whatever you please and another flat - down 4 inch rail. but I doubt I'll see the park for a while yet with both the amount of fun to be had in the pow and the closure of alot of the lifts on route to the park, due to the heavy snowfall.
The pisteurs have also just started building the big air for the Ripcurl Champs. Theyre only just starting to build up the take-off ramp and its looking like a monster.
Anyhoo, I havent got any pictures of the pow yet as ive just been busy surfing it up. try to get another update next week. |
