The recent clear skies and sunny weather has gone and the snow has returned.
After a spell a high pressure over the Alps for the last couple of weeks the weather has now changed and we have seen a return to substantial snow falls. Today at Le Tour the much anticipated storm arrived with some strong winds and plenty of snow.

The forecast over the next 48 hours is for 55-85cm of fresh snow at mid mountain altitude which should see some great conditions returning to the Chamonix valley.

Quite a bit of caution will be required for off piste riding in the next few days as there is some high winds with the new snowfall which will result in a lot of new windslab being formed. The avalanche risk over the next few days is set to rise from the 1 out of 5 level from early today, to a higher level.

Please take care and consult the avalanche reports posted at the access lifts on all areas in Chamonix.
