Designed by Jeremy Jones and built by Rossignol, the rocker in the nose gives you epic float, but it keeps it's maneuverability (even at 168) and doesn't become unwieldy in narrow couloirs. It feels more nimble than my 163 One Mag.
In deep pow the ride is effortless and you can really charge through the chop. It isn't quite as stiff as you might expect but personally I don't mind that. The Magne-Traction is fantastic on the hardpack and saved me a couple of times on changeable terrain and on tricky traverses (I wouldn't buy a board without it now). It even rides moderately well switch.
It seems pretty durable too. I'm very hard on boards and it's seen some action but fared better than previous boards, even though the base is clear. It's super lightweight, probably because there's no top sheet and 'gaps' in the core design. It's a beautiful thing.
The board just 'feels' right. Very tight but very fluid at the same time. If Jeremy wasn't bringing out his own line (essentially the same design, only manufactured by Nidecker) I would have picked up a second to tuck away! Definitely get a lock for it - this stick is a serious attention whore. |
