Review Detail
Sauze is a wicked place to go, I know you always remember your first, but I thought it was good enough for me, in that it had a lot of medium runs and a few black runs, which being new to this sport left out!

We went out to Sauze in March of 2002, and we were all a little green to this sport. We soon settled into it all and was loads of boarders there.

The runs were a little icy, especially at the start of the day, and this was my only real complaint, as no snow fell the whole time we were there.

On the fourth or fifth day they closed off all the lifts going to the top of the slope, as it was well windy, but there was enough other places to board and hone our skills on.

Nightlife was ok, but like most places, its what _you_ make of it. I had heard that it was a little wild out there, but to be honest no more than any other night back home.

On a Friday night the local people from around the area go to the club that is on the resort and I found the Italians both welcoming and friendly.

One thing that I really really appreciated is that the people on these sort of resorts don't seem to smoke as much and clubs don't stink of fags and neither do your clothes at the end of an evening.

Food was fairly cheap, and there were enough bars and restaurants to keep us five entertained.

As for a park, we did not find one, and we did not know if such a joy existed, maybe someone can add to this review and let us know.

Three of the people in our party hired there gear from a snow hire shop next to Casa de Vacanza in the town square, and the gear was amicable, no split boards or delam to worry about, although the boots were a little mingin'

We stayed in Casa de Vacanza, and it was a one week course in survival, we did not have a kettle, we had two shot glasses between the five of us and no tea cups... we had to nick load of beer mugs from a local pub so we could have some tea in the morning... but hey its a holiday trophy!

There were around 17 runs to choose from (going from memory) and we did most of these, including the run back into Sauze from the top of the mountain which proved extremely challenging and I was chief heel breaker :)

I did experience a little rage from an italian skier who cut me up, collided with my board and then did 20ft in the air before touching down on the ice again... If i could understand Italian, I would have most probibly been offended. But he should not have been cutting me up!

Off to Meribel this new year (27/12/2002) fir 8 days... will have to add a review about that too!
