| Review Detail |
This is not a cheap place to go! We went from Geneva airport & got a hirecar there to drive (which was very easy, you'd hardly need a map and we did it in about 2 hours - beautiful scenery en route), but Saas Fee has no cars in it only electric taxis so you have to park up and get stung for about 12 quid for some bloke on a milkfloat to transport you and your board to your accommodation.
Good website - www.saas-fee.ch which you can book accommodation through. We stayed in a self catering place which was a good thing as it meant we could eat pasta every night (couldn't afford to eat out).
There was plenty of snow already there, but it only actually snowed on the last two days so for most of the time we were reliant on the glacier snow near the top as the runs down to resort were a bit slippery. Quite a lot of runs were closed all together but then we went there at the beginning of December so fair enough I guess.
The runs at the top of the mountain are good; some nice reds and blues and if you can cope with both there's a run from the top of the little underground train all the way to the resort. I advise you to stuff your rucksack full of mars bars though because the mountain restaurants are hideously expensive.
The trip ended with an interesting drive home in a blizzard - we still had the snow chains on five miles down the motorway. I would go there again for a long weekend but not for any longer than that I think.

| Strengths |
Nice wide blues at the top - good for beginners
Posh skiers only ski for about five minutes a day and 'do lunch' so the runs are empty before 10, between 1 and 2, and after about 3 o clock by which time they're all in the bars

| Weaknesses |
Expensive!
Only a little resort with not too many runs |
