Adam is an excellent instructor, both myself and my girlfriend took 1-2-1 lessons with him, mostly in Les Gets. My girlfriend is a very nervous boarder and needs a very calm, and encouraging, instructor to get the most from the lessons. Fortunately Adam was both of these things and she learnt a lot from him and was pushed probably more than by previous instructors. She would certainly take lessons from him again which is as good a statement as any I guess!

With my lesson, Adam was very quick to correct a few lazy habits I picked up and cracked my heelside carves in a very short time. As a result I'm now a lot happier with this edge and carving at speed on both edges now. Again, I would be very happy to go straight back to Adam when I am next in Morzine.

I would highly recomend Adam to any boarders of any level without hesitation.
Strengths
Adam is excellent at understanding exactly where you are coming from and will adapt his coaching style to best meet your needs. This is a very difficult skill to learn and shows Adam's proficiency as a coach very well.
Weaknesses
None to speak of

I wanted to gain a refresher lesson to make sure I wasn’t getting into any bad habits and also learn to ride switch and do some small tricks! I had a 2 hour private lesson.

Adam was extremely accommodating with times and locations across Morzine / Les Gets. We changed the location at the very last minute and he had no issue what so ever.

He monitored my technique initially, boarding in front and behind and after just one run indicated where I could improve. After just one further run and Adam’s direction, the technique improved. We then did around 4 runs to ‘nail’ the new technique, carving harder and sharper and using toes and heels to more affect. We moved onto switch and Ollies and before long it all came together well.

Alex is a very nice chap, very polite and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Alex to all levels of snowboarders for lessons if you are in the Porte Du Soliel area. His prices are competitive and the level of instruction he provided was to a very high standard.

Thanks Alex!

I was heading out to Les Gets late in the 2010/11 season with my husband P and a group of friends, and decided to get some lessons. I’m an intermediate snowboarder, and mainly have issues with confidence and guts, rather than technical ability. I found Pop Snowboarding online, and booked 2 x 2 hour lessons with them, for me and P. P is a much better snowboarder than me, technically and in terms of courage, and I was a bit worried that a joint private lesson wouldn’t work, but Adam was awesome – he totally tuned in to what we each needed and did a great job of watching us both at once, and keeping us both occupied and stretched and teaching us both plenty of new stuff. Plus we had a really great time – the 2 hours just flew by!! In fact, we enjoyed it so much we badgered him into squeezing us in for another class later in the week.

Thanks to Adam’s lessons, techniques and tips I really pushed myself over the course of the holiday, and I’m unrecognisable now from the panicky, nervous rider I was at the start of the week. By the end of our time in Les Gets, and all under Adam’s tutelage, I had ridden the park and jumped for the first time, learned to ride switch (albeit a bit sketchily!) and no longer worried about the colour of the pistes – I was confident that I could cope with more or less anything (and with some degree of style, too!). P also found that his technique was greatly improved, and became a much more efficient rider, plus his park skills came on hugely (he’ll have those backside 3s nailed in no time!)

I would wholeheartedly recommend Adam to anyone looking to learn to snowboard in the PdS area. A great teacher, and a relaxed and fun guy to hang out with, I’d be willing to bet you finish your lessons much better snowboarder than when you started, and you’ll have a wicked time to boot.

We had 5 sessions with Pop between us, covering everything from general riding technique, flatland tricks and park sessions and my lessons were the most enjoyable part of the week (and it definitely wasn't that the rest of the week wasn't fun!). It was only when I got home and people asked about my trip that it dawned on me just how much I'd progressed and learnt over the week, I was so busy having fun that it seemed to pass me by that I'd come on leaps and bounds. Adam has so much patience and was able to give me as much detail as I needed to make sure I understood what I was trying to do and was able to help me correct things where they were going wrong. Can't say enough good things, some of our friends decided to go back to Morzine later in the season just so they can have some more lessons with Pop, I think that about sums up our experiences :)
Strengths
Everything
Weaknesses
Everything from learning to turn to nollie front flips were covered by various members of our group last week and we couldn't find one
