i was really nervous as it was my first boarding holiday.. but after meeting craig and catherine and some of the borders, i was totally put at eez from the word go...
the lengths craig and catherine go to to ensure all there guests are completely cared for is outrageous, there amazing ,wonderful people... i personally dont think they get credited enough for all there hard work.
the standered of food its amazing too, after a whole day boarding you cant ask for better than tea an amazing cakes, followed at dinner by beautiful home cooking..
i will defo be back at any opertunity i get, we now class craig and catherine as friends an look forward to going back to see them...
all in all a perfect holiday.. beautiful views, good snow, wonderful people...''boom boom'' |

We booked Pension Sonnlietn aka New Carinthia Lodge through BoardnLodge Holidays.
We went once, and keep coming back. Why? Because it's one of the best chalets we've ever come across. Craig and Katharine are officially the nicest people to ever run a chalet. They've built up this beautiful chalet in Nassfeld, Austria, and have everything you need at all times of the day for an awesome stay.
The chalet is beautifully cosy, and all the rooms are super comfortable - plus ensuite, and most have massive balconies overlooking the mountains. The massive breakfast buffet has more than enough to keep you filled up for an epic day on the mountains, til you come home for some fresh tea and cake. Then the three-course evening meal with wine is always a treat, all in the communal wooden dining room. And if that really isn't enough (or if you've a day off the mountains), they can make you cheese toasties or other bits to keep you filled... plus have their own bar to numb any bumps from the mountain!
They've a sauna, a games room, ping-pong room, a lounge, table football, and free wifi throughout the chalet. It is situated in a very Austrian village, which is beautiful, quiet and super peaceful... but if you want the nightlife there's plenty of proper Austrian apres, and the Cube club is an easy taxi ride away.
The free snow bus leaves from outside the chalet and is close to the slopes or Nassfeld, which in itself is an amazing location - super cheap, always empty, snow park, long runs, and very Austrian - you can buy a combo round of beers and jagers for under 20 euros, which is amazing in itself! The slopes are always well looked after, high-speed lifts (there's 3 modern gondolas too!!), groomed and maintained very well with snow making if there's no fresh... but there's a huge amount of awesome offpiste if there's been snow (which the Austrians usually stay clear of on their skis, which keeps it fresh for us!).
If you want a very well priced stay in the mountains, go nowhere else - you can fly really cheap to Klagenfurt too, which is only an hour away. Chalet prices start at £250 per adult for 7 nights with meals and wine, which is an amazing price for what you get.
Craig and Katharine really look after you, and welcome you into the lovely chalet which is their home - even when 30 snowboarders rock up for a couple of weeks every year, and they both still have a smile on their faces at the end of the week! See you again next year!
