really good price!! £500 pp ,... price included lift pass for 7days/flight/ accomadation in snezhanka half board, transfers and ski carrige there and bk. through thomas cook/balkan holidays we booked about 2 month before we went

it was my 1st holiday and id say its really good for begginers as there are plenty of green and blue runs.
there were a couple of black and red,

i went in mid febuary there wasnt much snow in the resort but plenty on the piste. although i heard the black runs were quite icy :s

our rep was amazing really helpful, some good excursions for everyone... day trip to plodiv for shopping and sight seeing, quiz night- was brilliant, bulgarian night- great food and bulgarian music,bowling- with a twist was fun and for all ages, and i think there was a snowmobile ride aswel.and a rubber ring thing that went down a small hill more for the children i think lol

and for any people like me who hate the drag/buttons lifts, this place was like heaven, i think i only used one the whole holiday and that was to get to a short peice of a red run, rest of the journey up the mountain i enjoyed by sitting down :)

hope this helps, and sorry about my spelling :/ lol xx
Strengths
food
brilliant place half way up the mountain sold amazing pizzas and burgers, very cheap aswel, and quite a few nice restaurants in the resort

good for 1st holidays or begginers, or any one on a low budget.

cheap!
Hot Spots
veiws from the top of the mountain :)
Weaknesses
nightlife
it wasnt really good enough for me, it was too quiet,i found the drinks in pubs and bars were reasonably cheap though.

it was a 4 and a half hour drive in a mini bus to get there from sofia airport.

Had a great time when i was there but it is very limited. Snow wasn't good when i was there and quite a lot of ice. Had a good instructor though and a fair few runs for a beginner. However its not even in the same league as a resort in the alps. Still, it is cheap as chips and with the pound so weak if you can afford the alps - go for it. Much better than a snowdome.
Strengths
Cheap Cheap Cheap. If you cant afford the Alps better than the snowome! Booze and food very cheap too. Good for beginner/Great for first timer.
Hot Spots
Nice bar with a fire at Hotel pamporovo.
Weaknesses
Snow and runs are limited. Not much nightlife but if you want a party you will find one!

Ok - I guess if you pay peanuts, then you get Monkeys.... In fairness it's not that bad if you want to learn and have a laugh on-the-cheap. I'd never been boarding before, and I thought it was great.
Strengths
Price of ...... everything!
Tree-lined pistes offer a challenge
Weaknesses
Limited terrain

First impressions of the resort was really bad. When we arrived there was no snow in the resort at all. Got the the main lift and was very muddy with very little snow. Very much the same at the top of the mountain.

Days 1 & 2 were very poor for boarding, day 3 the boarders of the group didn't even attempt to go up as the conditions had only deteoriated.
However, by the night of day 3 and into the morning of day 4 there was a massive dump. The lifts were all closed due to adverse weather conditions. After that it did not stop snowing morning until night. 1 metre of snow fell over the last 2 days making boarding conditions excellent. Loads of powder.
Strengths
When there was good snow there it was excellent lots of nice runs for beginners and intermediates. Good night life even at the end of the season.
Hot Spots
The Lodge at the top of the mountain for lunch. They make mean pizzas.
The White Hart in the town centre great fun.
Apres ski bar just over the road was excellent, amazing band playing every night there.
Weaknesses
When conditions are bad, it is really bad.
Snow boarders not allowed on certain lifts. Resort wasn't really prepared for the massive fall we had. None of the runs were groomed in time for opening and lifts were late to start operating.

Flight was meant to go from Gatwick to Plovdiv but as Plovdiv doesn't have the necessary remote landing equipment to allow planes to land in fog we were diverted to Borgas on the east coast. This meant we had a 9 hour transfer instead of the 2 we expected. And this was in an ancient coach with no toilet.

The snow was ok at the start of the week but was poor towards the end. This was to be expected as we went over new year and it doesn't have the best snow record early in the season. For the last couple of days, the runs down to the base were sheet ice in the morning and mud in the afternoon. The runs were ok given we were complete beginners. Apart from the Wall, experienced skiers/boarders might get bored easily.

The lessons were interesting. Our instructor stated at the start to our mixed group that women shouldn't be trying to snowboard as they weren't physically capable. When he actually tried to teach, he was ok. Lift passes are much more expensive when purchased in the resort than from your tour operator so make sure you buy in advance.

We stayed in the Hotel Pamporovo which was the best hotel in the resort. The range of facilities was good, with a pool, sauna, bowling alley, 3 bars and a nightclub. Only problems were the very limited hot water supply and the food. Everything was lukewarm and we were given the same dishes over and over again.

Food outside the hotel was good, especially on the mountain with plates full of freshly roasted lamb or chicken available at a very cheap price.

Nightlife was limited to a handful of bars and I understand they've knocked down the best one which was the White Hart. Beer is about 50p a bottle if you're prepared to drink the locally produced stuff and other brands are cheap as well.

Boarding equipment is much cheaper than the UK but not necessarily well known brands.

It is possible to buy fake copies of just about anything you want - clothes, cigarettes, DVDs etc. In fact nearly anything you buy will be fake even from respectable looking shops.

Don't bother taking credit cards as hardly anywhere accepts them. Travellers cheques attract a high rate of commission so cash is best. The are a couple of cashpoints around the resort.

It might sound like I'm putting this resort down but I'm not. We really enjoyed our time there, you just shouldn't expect it to similar to a resort in the US or France.
Strengths
Cheap
Hot Spots
White Hart R.I.P.
BJ's (Has pole for dancing. Also gives best exchange rate)
Weaknesses
Attitude of the instructor towards women.
Limited number of runs
