I Had a superb time on the snowparking freestyle camp.

The really got me riding to my full potential. Taking me out of my comfort zone but in a good way . The was a great atmosphere where you are encourged to step up to things but not forced a really good posative vibe learning and having fun. There was a wide range of abilites and ages on this week and every one love it and came on loads. The Coach Lauen was an absolutle legend

The week was really well rounded encompasing pretty much every aspect of snowboarding half pipe, backcountry, boarder X ,kickers rails, boxs, pists drop offs. i really can think of anything that was missesd. Iwill certainly be doing it again next year.

The Staff really helpfull freindly bunch
Accomadation real luxrey
food top draw
The resort very snowboard freindly great parks and pipe, brilliant ski area, something for everybody and absolutly massive.
Town Nice a and down to earth and quite pretty. Also very short transfere only 1hour 10 mins

Strengths

Weaknesses

I am not good with words or reviews, but Joni and Samee at MoreMountain more than deserve this! Their enthusiasm for snowboarding, having a good time, and providing a super holiday is infectious and contagious!

Like a few of the lads below, I was at the MoreMountain sNOw PARKING week! It was the most intensive, challenging snowboarding week of my very short snowboarding life to date!

The hosts at the chalet (Loft), Chris and Linz are very warm and welcoming, so friendly, and always interested in talking about your day! The chalet itself is luxurious and pristine, a home from home (except its better than my own home!), all the comforts that you could possibly need, especially after a hard day's shredding! Just check out the website, its all there, and its all true!

Food was good. A hearty breakfast to start off the day. Excellent three course dinner, timed with precision!

The camp itself was excellently organised by Joni, with all levels catered for. That in itself must've been a job and a half, as the group that week varied from awesome riders with seasons behind them, to less experienced folk with only a couple of weeks on the mountain (me). For me, the whole week opened my eyes to all sorts of fun to be had on a snowboard, from my first off-piste experience (that was so tough!!), to first steps in the Park, Half-pipe, Airbag, having fun on the sides of the pistes, worked on my technique, corrected my stance! It was harder NOT to learn something from the week, and the rest of the guys i was riding with! I will not hesitate to go back for sNOwPARKING next year!

Its the warm hospitality, and the personal touch from Joni and Samee in looking after all their guests that make MoreMountain the perfect chalet(s). I am going back in March, and will be staying at one of their other chalets (La Cabine), I can't wait! With people like Joni and Samee, Chris and Linz, looking after you, there's no reason to go anywhere else!
Strengths
Friendliness, helpfulness, local knowledge (people, in short)

organisation of snowboard week

MoreMountain (owned by Jon and Sam) have several chalets in Morzine which can be booked out privately, or you can join one of the organised week long holidays which are put on a few times a year.

I was in The Loft, a 4 bedroom (8 bed) chalet pretty much in central Morzine, and it was by far the most luxurious ski chalet I've ever stayed in. As several other reviewers have pointed out, pretty much every detail is covered from free wifi, to (english!) sky tv on a massive plasma, to a playstation, to underfloor heating and heated towel racks in the bathrooms. There is even a board shed with tuning equipment and a special electric air drying rack for boots overnight. Literally everything has been thought of. Our hosts Chris and Linzey were warm and friendly, and cooked excellent 3 course meals every night of the week apart from their Wednesday off, and even then they had pre-booked a fantastic (and well priced) restaurant to save us from taking ages to agree on where to go.

My stay in the chalet was part of the sNOw PARKING week. I booked as a way to develop freestyle skills as most of my snowboarding mates are content to just ride around on piste...in this regard the sNOw PARKING did not disappoint. Everyday was well structured and gave a good overview of all kinds of freestyle, from lessons in an (extremely well maintained) half-pipe, to jibbing in the park, to private sessions on a giant airbag...by the end of the week I was landing tricks I hadn't dreamed possible at my level! We also had the chance to go on a nice long off-piste run which included avalanche training with transceivers. Although a week is too short a time to really become an expert at anything, I certainly felt that it was a fantastic way to get a feel for what I want to become good at, and the definitely helped in getting me someway there.

100% recommend both the chalet and the sNOwPARKING week.

This was my first time staying with jon and sam at moremountain and will definitely not be my last, in fact am trying to sort out another visit this season. Jon and Sam run a number of chalets around Morzine, and the one I stayed at, The Loft, was excellent. Our hosts, Chris and Lindsay, were fantastic. The food they prepared every day (breakfast, afternoon tea and 3 course dinner) was delicious, and they were extremely friendly and helpful. We got to ride with them out on the mountain too which added to the fun. The chalet itself is really nice, pretty luxurious actually, with contemporary yet homely styling. All the rooms are warm (check that underfloor heating!) and all bedrooms ensuite. All mod cons are laid on, big screen tv, dvd player and dvd's, playstation, wireless, imac with tunes, ipods for taking onto the hill(!), two way radios likewise, all you could possibly need!

As I said, both Chris and Lindsay, and Jon and Sam themselves were extemely friendly and helpful. They made us feel like family at the chalet, and locals on the hill and around town. How's this for helpful? My own board was proving unsuitable for the park riding we were doing during the week, so Jon had no hesitation in offering me use of his spare for the duration. Forum Destroyer, niiice, just put in my order for mine :) Also, one morning, I realised that I had accidentally (ok i was drunk) left my bindings outside one of the local bars the previous night. Sam hopped in the car and retrieved them for me within minutes. Yes they were still there, that's how Morzine is.

I was with MoreMountain as part of the sNOwPARKING week, which was basically a snowboard camp with daily tuition, tips and tricks, lots of park time and guided backcountry run. The camp was really well organised and definitely helped me progress my riding, which had plateaued a bit. We had tuition every day from the Avoriaz Alpine Surf School (Laurent IS the man), exclusive use of the half pipe one day, and the park's airbag on two days. Pays to have that local knowledge! Btw all tuition and portes du soleil lift passes were included in the above price. Had a great week and made some new friends who I'll be definitely seeing again soon.

All in all I would recommend any of the MoreMountain chalets, and The Loft in paricular, to anyone planning a trip to Morzine. Like I say, I'll be back there myself, soon I hope.

Just returned from the sNOw PARKING snowboard camp in morzine and man what a week!!
Sam and Jon (owners) and Chris & Linz (hosts) couldn't do enough to make sure this week did everything it said on the tin and more!
I did this Camp last year and they took on all of our comments and acted on them where they could! Improved avalanche awareness tution, slightly later lessons and improved lesson structure came together with the addition of private pipe and airbag sessions to make this an awesome time!!
I can only see this camp getting better next year but only with little tweaks!
Accomodation and hospitality was as good as ever with MM setting very high standards and the personal touch of having the bosses around to take care of stuff when you need them makes the week!
Strengths
Attention to detail, Plush Accomodation, Delish Food, Great people, Hook up with Avoriaz Ski/snowboard school!
Weaknesses
None i can think of.
Similar Schools/Camps Used
None i care to mention.
