well, went on quite a few day trips over here, and this is quite an amazing place. as usual, the ski pass for a glacier resort is more expensive, but believe me, on a powder day, you dont want to be anywhere else (well, except maybe verbier...) im gonna concentrate on the glacier 3000 part, as this really is the outstanding part. if you get there before the main season starts (early december, november, summer months), the place can be quite full on weekends, but weekdays are usually dead. because most of the resort is closed, they make up for it with the snowpark: boarder cross, a line of 6-7 jumps, a bunch of rails and some nice wide carving pistes (possible powder if it has just snowed, although watch out! it is a glacier..). ifull season, the glacier is usually quite empty, as its cold, but on a powder day, head right up to the top, and make your way over the the combe d'audon. here you will find a massive bowl (a small piste down the middle in case your scared of powder) with random cliffs and fresh tracks to be had all day. there are also a couple nice powder runs off the high speed quad, and on the pist that goes to the bottom, when it is shut (usually, requires hike back to parking..). otherwise, has some nice flattish beginner runs up on the glacier, and links up with villars, where there are also a couple nice long runs to be had. if you can catch a powder day, this place is AMAZING
Strengths
glacier, with AMAZING back bowl
wicked snowpark during summer skiing and early part of the season
Weaknesses
busy on a powder day
links with villars are not that great (involves t-bars)

Flew into Geneva and stayed with some friends on Lake Geneva near Monteax. Used it as a base to travel to various resorts. Les D was good linked with Villars makes for a fair sized area. Lunch was ok not as pricey as Verbier. Snow was good even though it had not snowed for about a month.
Strengths
Linked to Villars,
Not to pricey for the lift pass & lunch
Weaknesses
Lots of school kids when we were there! One school had their own ski uniform!!

A great resort. there was loads of easily accesible powder and the runs were impecable-typical swiss. we stayed in hotel le chamois which was a great hotel although was a bit out of town for my liking. nevermind there was free resort bus running to each area and the galcier every half hour!! there were three areas isenau, meilleret, and glacier 3000 all offered great boarding. meilleret had a 7 kilometer sledge run and snowtubing which was great fun. at isenau we found the snowpark. it was the best ive ridden. it contained three small kickers perhaps they were 5 metre tabletops. a big hip. an A frame rail 2 flat rails and a handrail. a 8 metre tabletoop and a huge table. it was great, sun snow and music. it was serviced by a t-bar draglift and sessionend all week by me and my mate. we also found a secret spot behind the glacier 3000 rear carpark down a little track that becomes piste. there was a few small cornice and rock drops into powder with natural landings and we built three kickers of varying size. also it was about 100 metres from a nice restaurant and the biggest dog ive ever seen!! nightlife was pretty limited we pretty much spent all nights jibbing the church rails or tables. if u want a snowboard bar head for the mac twist bar about 100 metres from the isenau lift station car park.
Strengths
great snow
large off piste capabilities
wicked park
a lot of terrain
Weaknesses
expensive expect to pay £1.50 for a coke!!
