| Review Detail |
This board is an absolute freeride machine! Designed for boarder-x, it's made for charging hard all over the mountain and ideal for agressive riders.
This board is designed for advanced riders. Don't expect to ride with poor technique as it will completely kick your ass! Although the stiffest board I've ridden, the torsional flex is still snappy, giving the rider quick transitions beween turns.
With a longer nose holding a softer flex than the tail it allows you to initiate turns accurately and hold the edge throughout the turn. The stiffness in the tail really lets the rider pop out of the turn and accelerate over the edge transition into the next turn. The pop on this board is obscene!
The "Intelligence Technology" sounds gimmicky but it seems to work. Head claim the board stiffens up as it gains speed and stops chatter. I've found the edge hold to be fantastic when carving hard on any surface and remains very stable.
The base on the board is super fast. There's no base graphics as these slow down the board - it's just hard and fast. When you hit rocks they're the ones that need repairing!
The board rides well in powder - the long nose stays above the surface pretty effortlessly, although this is a freeride board not a powder board - it seems a shame to risk damaging such a fanstasic bit of kit off-piste.
I bought this board to give me something for racing competitions (primarily boarder-x). Unless you want to make the jump to a race/alpine board this is one of the best things you'll get your hands on. It needs to be ridden very aggresively so make sure your legs are up to the challenge - for the first 3 days it was pretty painful! You need to also make sure your boots and bindings are supportive enough to control this board - soft/freestyle ones will not do it justice. |
