I stayed two weeks in Morzine for the end of March 2012, the first week as a group in a typical genric catered chalet and the second week with the HOFNAR crew as a solo traveller. I must say that the HONAR chalet and hosts were far superior to any other chalet I've stayed in. It's different from the usual chalet package which I guess is usually aimed at families; it has a much more relaxed and casual 'make yourself at home' feel to it - exactly what I want from a ski holiday.
Our hosts Dan and Sam always exceeded my expectations, working hard to make everything easy for us, for example they offered unpromted to arrange and deliver my 14 ski pass to my chalet in the first week (even though it was a little way out of Morzine), and when I arrived at 10am on changeover day to drop off my stuff they were very welcoming and allowed me to drop off my stuff in the garage and have a day snowboarding.
We had a diverse group of skiiers and snowboarders of varying abilities and the guys did a great job of creating opportunities to bring the group together both on the pistes and off the pistes while still allowing for people to be able to go off and do thier own thing.
Also inclusive beer, hot tub, sauna, pool table at that price is just crazy! I am definately considering coming back in the summer to do something or at least coming back next year for some amazing fantastic snow fun! |

| Just came back from a memorable boarding trip with hofnar in morzine. Dan,THE host, is the only host you'll ever need. travelled on my own but that ain't a problem cus you're made to feel welcome from the start. there was a guy who travelled all the way from oz and he was a regular visitor! the first 2 days i didn't even look at the piste map cus dan was the guide- awesome, covered a lot of terrain!!! the accomodation is close to the super-morzine gondola and there is free use of a locker in a nearby ski shop so no lugging all that equipment. the rooms are clean and the shower, very important, is great. it does help to have a sense of humour cus the talk can and does frequently go a little rude but hey you're on holiday and all that alcohol loosens you up! learnt a couple of new drinking games and made some great friends. one of the best boarding holiday i've been on - highly recommended. as for what hofnar stands for i won't spoil it for ya, go out there and find out :) |

This was my first time in the mountains and I can happily say that it won't be the last. Dan is incredibly friendly and supportive - acting not just as a the guy who runs this unusual set up but also being a friend and 'play-mate' to everyone.
The chalet is great and location very central and convenient. The set up is such that you can be as involved or distant from the group there as you choose - be it going riding by yourself or with others in the chalet; having dinner with everyone or finding your own thing; or going out partying the night away with some of your new friends or reading your book in bed.
Dan's set up means you have full flexibility to have the holiday you want, facilitated by him and his ever present smile. |

Ideal for small groups of 20s and 30 somethings or folk travelling on their own who want a good time in the mountains with laid back, like minded people.
No hard selling reps pushing crappy bar crawls to contend with, and you don't get herded round like cattle the way the big tour operators tend to treat you. Instead you get top personalised service from host Dan, who cooks you a fine breakfast every morning, keeps the drink flowing in the evening and generally entertains with his endearing brand of smut. The chalet is top notch, close to lifts and bars and everything.
It's a pretty unique set up and really good value. Highly recommended for boarders and skiers of all levels. I've been a couple of times now and it's becoming an annual fixture in my calander. |
