Been on a couple of day courses with these guys over the summer and can't recommend them highly enough. I have tried most of the UK coaching companies and Grounded are by far my favourite.

Dave and Mikee and super cool guys and so patient and willing for you to learn. Nothing seems too much trouble even after the 100th request to demo the same trick! Their enthusiasm and love for snowboarding is so infectious and before you know it you are pushing your boundaries further than you though possible, without even realising you are doing it.

At first i was sceptical of how you can have riders of all abilities on the same course. If anything it is better as they tailor the coaching to each person's riding rather than just making everyone do the same tricks over and over regardless of if you are getting it or not (happens on some other courses i have tried). Each rider is asked their aim for the day and coaching is tailored to that aim.

The post course write up and video anaylsis you get emailed to you a week or two later are really useful. You can really see how your riding improves from the videos taken at the beginning to ones taken at the end of the day.

Overall a fun day whilst really improving your riding. Cheers guys and definitely see you on one of your courses soon.
Strengths
Loads of fun, great coaching suited to each rider, nice guys
Weaknesses
none that i can think. Shame they dont seem to run courses as regularly as some other coaching companies.

Words can't describe how good the day was. In fact I've already booked up more training with Dave, and planning next winter around saving for these courses. If you want to improve your riding, then there's nowhere else to turn.

This was my first day course with GFC, and it couldn't have gone any better. It was one of the hardest day's riding I've ever had - and that's saying something, coming from the freezer! 7 hours in The Snow Centre, with individual attention depending on each of our needs, our own features (which noone else in the snow centre could use) and no queueing. Dave and Mikee know their stuff, better than anyone I've met before. They have a genuine love of snowboarding, and teaching it too, which was reflected throughout the whole day. No matter what level, age, style or aim, they gave us 110% of their attention, and every one of us came out a better rider for it.

But what makes GFC unique is that we've all received detailed reports on our riding, and how to keep improving, with our own video analysis taken from the day. Every limb hurt so much the next day, but that's because they pushed me out of my comfort zone for the first time ever, which is exactly what my riding needed, and exactly why I'm going back to them.
Strengths
Individual attention, no matter what our needs or level
Dedicated instructors
Immense value for money (includes slope time)
Small groups - everyone really friendly and supportive
No pressure, noone judging you - everyone there for the same reason
Own features - kicker and box
I could keep going... but we all came out better riders than we arrived, so surely that's the biggest strength we could get!

Weaknesses
Only my riding - but that's why I'm going back with GFC!

This is my 3rd course with Dave and Mikee and I'm definitely not getting bored of it. Every time I go not only do I learn new tricks but the guys help me to build techniques so I am able to know why I'm falling. This allows me to go to Hemel every friday night think about what I'm doing wrong and build on that!
The boys coaching skills are great, most Fridays Dave and Mikee are up on the freestyle nights too so they can even give extra feedback then.
Dave and Mikee are incredibly friendly and great coaches. One thing that I think sets Grounded Freestyle Coaches apart is the fact that Dave sends you the footage from throughout the day as well as taking the time to send an email outlining what you need to work on and how to do it.

I would recomend this course to anyone whether you are a beginner or a more advanced rider and I will definitely be going to the next one on July 30th.
Strengths
The quality of coaching
Friendly
Fun
Good value for money.
Getting video and verbal feedback after the session.

I attended this one day course last Saturday and really enjoyed it.

I came away from it feeling so much more confident in the park and just can't wait to get on a jump or box/rail again soon. I've not really attempted much in the park as I've always been chasing slack/backcountry powder riding. I've generally been a bit intimidated by rails etc and this hasnt improved over the years as I've gotten older.

On this course we had the kicker and the box to ourselves which was great as we didnt have to queue and could just keep lapping the same feature until we could nail our tricks. I started the day being able to ollie and pull off the occasional ungraceful 180 but came away being confident with board slides on the box and various grabs off the kicker.
The only bad thing I can think of is serious aching limbs the next day, but that just shows that I was pushed for the whole 7 hours.

I really got the feeling that Dave and Mikee are doing it for the passion and the reward of seeing their students progress. And this really comes across in their coaching style.

I can't wait to recieve the video analysis and will defo be attending the next one I can make. Hopefully that 360 is pretty close.

I agree wholeheartedly with the article written by Kaz who attended the same day as me.
