Review Detail
As a boarder of 10 years I had never really hit the park as I was to be honest, bloody scared of hurting myself. After several trips away my riding had Plateaued and I was starting to loose a bit of the love. I decided that to get my mojo back I needed to basically stop being a pussy and learn some new skills! A quick phone call to Gav at Definition and I was booked on to the two day course at Hemel.

The course consisted of a day on the box and a day on the kicker, with some general riding tips as well. The standards of the 10 or so participants was a bit of a mixed bag, some guys were happy throwing 1s off the kicker and 50/50s on the box, and some guys were like myself, complete park novices. To be honest this didn't matter at all as Gav and James Foster who were coaching worked individually with each person to make sure they received the correct training. With the class lapping the features quickly we must have hit the kicker about 100 times! Safe to say that with the tailored feedback people were getting everyone progressed in the two days at Hemel.

One of the main plus points I feel benefitted myself was the calm, clear instruction that was given. It really helped my overcome my demons, and I never felt once that I was being pushed too far beyond my somewhat limited ability and confidence, just enough to logically progress from one aspect of riding to the next.

I must add that if your thinking of hitting one of these courses make sure your 100% fit and have a lot in the tank as it's a long, tiring two days. You get out what you put in and it's well worth it.
