Just off the M60 right next door to the Trafford centre just outside Manchester, you cant miss it on the horizon. The staff are friendly and helpful and all gear is either provided, (boards, boots, helmets), or available to hire, (jackets and pants), they even sell hat, glove and sock sets. Big changing area with cabins and lockers, (cost £1, which you get back), where you pick up the hire gear too. The slope is split into two sections, the bunny hill, where you go for taster sessions and basic lessons is to the left and the main slope to the right. The main slope is served by two button lifts and cope with the flow of people pretty well. The snow is groomed in the mornings and can get pretty choppy by the end of the day, but that can add character to your runs..... Off peak it can be pretty quiet, but peak times you might only get half the runs that you would during the day due to numbers on the slope.
Apres ski, there are some nice bars and coffee shops and a range of ski shops with equipment to drool over.
There are also freestyle nights and academies, so you can push your skills and lessons to suit any level. |

Living in Manchester there's a few snowdomes and slopes within reach but Chill Factore is a favourite for a few reasons. First off, the actual white stuff is great, doesn't smell chemical-y, isn't sticky or tacky even when it dries on your gear. They also replenish it every night and comb it through to keep it powdery. Second the 'alpine village' surrounding is reasonably priced and includes two restaurants, a Costa coffee and numerous gear shops including Snow + Rock and Subvert. Also on the slope they regularly run offers on lift passes and lessons at the beginning and end of season which are well worth taking advantage of. The staff are great too, always helpful and really know their stuff if you're a beginning rider. There's also a few permanent park features and they outfit the place for park sessions a few nights a week. It's shorter than a mountain obviously but there's a lot packed in. |

| Weaknesses |
| Could do with a people limit at peak times as sometimes gets horribly busy. |
