| I Went there for a long weekend. A good cheap place to stay for people who dont care about a lack of nightlife. The casino which is aparently buzzing on a saturday night was... um dead. Nice friendly place, but the bars I found there were a bit pricey. Stay here if your on a budget, for a week or two; Dont stay here for any longer, you'll get board! Taxis to and from meribel are 50 euros each way, so a proper night out would become very expensive. |

| We stayed in Brides for the season as its a cheap alternative to meribel. Its true , its totally dead but we knew that so werent expecting much ,if you just want to ride and are not bothered about anything else its fine.It snowed in town twice ,one of which was for nearly 2 days so we were jibbing in the skate park and the run down from meribel to Brides is a good laugh (watch your base!). You Really need a car here so you can get up to Meribel for nights out and so you can go down to the cheap Super U and get 30cents cans of beer. |

| Ok what can i say about brides le pap......first of all the most interesting thing in this place is the walk to the lift from our apartment. it has a casino ,a church,a papershop and couple of cafe's. There is no snow in this resort and its a 20 min lift every morning up to merbel. right next to this lift is a nite club thats sells beer sometimes as cheap as £100 pounds a pint, it wasnt all bad though. I won a pool competition in a bar one night and met up with some other rep type dudes who gave us all a free lift to meribel, came drinking with us and drove us home pissed which wasnt so bad.......in short if its any kind apres you want then dont bother...if you like gay egyptians in hotel swimming pools chatting you up ........then dont delay ....sign up today |

Brides les Bains is at the bottom of the Meribel Valley and is conneccted by a 25 minute Gondola ride to Meribel/Chaudanne.
I stayed at the Grand Chalet which was basic but comfortable with well sound proofed rooms that have a dishwasher, microwave, 2 electric rings and TV and ensuite bathroom/shower. Brides also has a casino and a French speaking cinema but the village is dead after 9pm. Quite, basic, clean and good value for money but no snow until you get to Meribel.
Local shops are OK(same price as Tesco) and there are a coiple of reasonable bars and restaurants. 2 hire shops(only one does Snowboards) and the ski lift is busy first thing in the morning.
Excellent for families with small kids or those on a budget. |
