Review Detail
ive been to switz for the last few year due to havin a friend who resides in zurich, i usually go to laxx or davos, arosa was recommeneded by my mate as he had been in the summmer, screw that go in winter, the resort is great not too big but loads of fun.
there is a freeride mountain area which has a bundle of runs to make you feel free, with some hiking if yuo really want to get out the way without feeling in any danger. we spent two days off the piste area, and it felt great. we then decide to hire a backcountry guide, paid about £80 for 3 of us for 3hrs of grueling fun, from about 3000mtres down through a endless powder field, floating like angels, then down to 1800mters through steep plump woodland into open runs and finishing with pleasant paths to finish, to find a local inn with good food and beer at good prices. Foe this and more guideing go to snow shop bert near opposite the ski shcool. ask for ollie,if you want a local upretencious friendly guide.
Night life, goto LOS bar its probably the best bar in town open till 2 a beer is about £9 for a jug of the froth. Other stuff, night boarding is worth a go, one piste lit up by giant globe lights, very fast very fun, have a little tipple b4 adds amusement. on friday night from 5 til 10. spas are good to unwind, we went to swimming and suana at local hotel, cant remember name, ask at tourist info for list, all about same price, we paid about £15 for a swim, sauna steam, and very cold plunge, and a raely good relax, and as the germans say an uber freindly service. reccomend for a treat. We stayed at the down town backpackers hostel, food good acc good lift pass thrown in, rooms ok. but for the price good value, all swiss accomodation is very good standard.
