| After the most successful World Heli Championship of all time at Lake Wanaka ended all that was left to do was announce the winners of each category. |

Awards were announced for riders, photographers and cinematographers for their great efforts over the competition.
The five photographers who were competing for the awards in their category took over 25,000 images in their bid to capture the essence of the event. Each photographer selected one image from each category to be judged.
Here are the winners in the photography category:
Best Extreme Day Shot – Pablo Azocar
Best Freestyle Day Shot – Miles Holden
Best Corona Branded Heli Shot – Miles Holden
Best Exide Batteries Branded Heli Shot – Pablo Azocar
Lake Wanaka Tourism Best Wanaka’s Backyard Photo – Mitch Stubbs
The all important awards for the winning riders who managed to win their categories were also handed out. Here is a list of the great athletes who picked up their awards at the ceremony:
Men’s Ski Champion – Sam Smoothy (NZL)
Women’s Ski Champion – Janina Kuzma (NZL)
Men’s Snowboard Champion – Benny Bright (AUS)
Women’s Snowboard Champion – Abby Lockhart (NZL)
