Winter season 2010-2011 could start next week |

Current snow conditions in both the Northern and Southern hemisphere suggest the Winter 2010-2011 season could start as early as next week. |

According to the latest snow reports from the expert forecasters at www.skiinfo.co.uk the forecast this week signals the following:
*Huge snowfalls on glaciers in Austria and Italy
* More heavy snow in Australia, August snowfall total passes 2 metres – 25 year record.
* Treble Cone, NZ, receives 30cm of snow in 30 hours.
* Last Week Of The Season In Africa.
* Summer ski season over in France.
Tignes will be amongst the first resorts to open for the winter season, shutting down for only three weeks following the conclusion of the summer season.
And the resort of Solden is making plans to open a month ahead of schedule - this weekend on September 4th.
Meanwhile in Colorado, the Loveland resort - usually one of the first to open for winter - is all set for snowmaking as it looks ahead to another early opening.
In the Southern Hemisphere, it seems Mt Hutt is the place to go - with the New Zealand resort registering around a foot of snow on just one day.
South American resorts have also seen fair snow conditions, while the African resort is Afriski is now closing following a successful season. |
