The first rule of snowboarding.......

There are no rules :-)

Often before I have a session with my clients they say things like; I just want you to tell me what I'm doing wrong. I just want you tell me what to do. I have this issue...... But I don't know what your supposed to do? Etc.
The thing is... there really isn't any rules; you can do what you want. Sure there are more effective ways of completing the task; there is what we know now, which in the future will be more, and maybe we decide there is actually an even more effective way to ride.

However the point I'm trying to make is that from a psychological perspective when we seek for someone to;"tell" us the way it is, this is what you should do, not like that! like this..... We slow the potential amount of information we can learn down to a minimum.

When you are being told what to do, you have to translate the information and put it in to action. If I ask you to do something in a certain way it can mean something slightly different to you than what I mean, and becomes like a game of Chinese whispers.

From my action to mind, to communication, to your understanding and awareness, to mind back in to action.

If we change the way we learn, and we say "there are no rules" then we are free from the "rules" and able to explore and learn together from direct experience.

Ride how you want, observe your own action, and logically work out what needs to happen, for you, the way you want to ride.

Your best teacher will be when you learn to teach yourself. Failing that the snowboard guru is available in Chamonix, France, via wifi/4G on Skype, or by request on any mountain in the world.
