A new slope misting system will be installed in time for the start of the 2011/2012 winter ski season at Swadlincote Ski & Snowboard Centre.
The centre, in South Derbyshire, has an outdoor dry slope area that will soon be sprayed regularly by180 misting heads built into the Perma-Snow™ slope matting.

This new system will ensure that the slope surface is regularly watered with a fine spray which will improve the sliding properties of the matting and will help to male the skiing and snowboarding experience much more realistic.

The new installation is a signal of more investment into the centre, after the introduction of the safer, continuous matting surface Perma-Snow™ to the slopes in 2004 and 2005.

The new mist installation won’t just increase the realism of the surface but it will also make it much more environmentally friendly than the previous sprinkler system that was in place in the 90’s.
