Plant a tree for every board that you own with Ride for Earth |

This is a new initiative that is asking anyone who owns a board, whether that is a snowboard, surfboard, wakeboard, skateboard or any other board or even skis, to take responsibility and help the environment.
If you love to board Ride is asking you to join their campaign and plant a tree for every board you own.
There are over 100 million people who this applies to, and Ride’s ambitious goal is to plant 10 million trees.
This may sound mightily hard to achieve but if successful it will help to make a difference whilst enjoying the sports that you love.
Just think about how much wood is used up in the manufacture of Snow and skate boards, it is a lot!
Even if there is no wood in your wakeboard, or your surfboard, just think of how it all started - the first surfboards, all the trees chopped down so you can snowboard, all the trees we use to jib on, our indoor skateparks or obstacles on snow, water and land... you see, there is a lot of wood involved - directly or indirectly.
What Ride is asking you to do is pay a small fee just 4.99EUR for the package and take a picture of you and your board.
Then all you have to do is upload it via their "Plant It Now" form (Facebook account required).
If you feel the cost is too much that is OK. Ride asks you to write a story explaining why 4.99EUR is too expensive and they will plant a tree in exchange for your story.
Once they receive your picture you will receive your package and a tree will be planted in your honour. Your package will contain some great gifts including a collection of stickers and the chance to win some great prizes. And your picture will be added to the community gallery for all to see.
Now to the trees. RFE will save up all of the applications over the year and each spring they will plant a tree for every photo sent. The planting will begin in Austria and is hoped to spread globally into Canada, USA and New Zealand.
Just think of what a difference you can make if you plant a tree for every board you own…
Buy a new board, why not reapply the following year and plant another tree?
