Canadian Alpine snowboarder Alexa Loo has called time on her glittering 14 year career. |

The 37 year old has spent the last 11 years training and competing with the Canadian snowboard team programme and can look back with fondness on a career that has taken in two Olympic Games and has seen her hold the title of Canadian Champion in Parallel Giant Slalom an impressive seven times.
She has also stepped on to the FIS World Cup podium three times during her long and distinguished career in Alpine Snowboarding.
Praising Loo's contribution to the snowboarding scene, Robert Joncas, Director of High Performance at Canada Snowboard commented:
"Alexa has been a trailblazer for women in snowboarding, leading the path and motivating younger alpine snowboarder to strap up and snowboard. Alexa leaves a strong legacy to women’s snowboarding, and we genuinely wish her the best of success in her professional career."
Loo was a prolific competitor at FIS Snowboard World Championships, and competed in the last championships, held in Gangwon, South Korea, placing eighth overall. |
