I'd be interested to see suggestions too as I'm just getting in to park. I'd be looking at getting one second hand most likely, can't really afford a new board having just got one this season and with a tranceiver/shovel/probe higher up the priority list!

I got to try next year's K2 Fling at the end of last season that was a pretty good park board- light, with loads of flex - great for getting pop and control. Was also good on and off piste as well but I'm looking forward to getting in th epark with it next year.

My first park board is a Stepchild Latchkey Ripper 148 - I moved on from a Rossignol Nuts 155 (it was free! Don't hate me).
It's a mens board, but has a stupidly soft flex and I thought I'd be fine because I'm a girl. Bearing in mind I'm about 100lbs soaking wet, I still find it difficult to flex but it's noticeably softer than the 155.
It's an alright entry level freestyle board that didn't cost me much (£180 all in from the US) and would be good for someone with little/no freestyle experience on a budget. I've only used it on dry slopes and in domes so far, but it'll do for the next couple of years. It's definitely not a good board to use for general cruising though - I kept losing my edge at CFe when I was trying to stop from a decent speed.
On the other hand, I can now ollie and press properly .

Hey there. I've tried a huge number of next years girls boards (at the industry board test in Austria) and I definitely have a couple of preferences: the Gnu BStreet, K2 VaVaVoom and the Signal Vita Park. All three epic boards that I would be happy to ride for park, jibbing and even general riding. Hope that helps!

Hi

I have the K2 Vava Voom - LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!

Absolutely excellent board for the park, and all general rising except off piste, its a 143 so very hard work off piste, but then I have a Step Child Powder Sucks for powder riding 155.

Used to have a Ride Vista which was not specifically park board but was flexi enough for messing.

Found the Vava voom excellent at jibbing too, so flexi that it pops off everything, cannot wait for next winter to get back on it - it is sat at the bottom of my steps crying out to be ridden lol Me thinks a few cheeky trips to Tignes this summer is in order.

Digging up a topic from a month ago....

I've been considering getting myself either a womens specific park board, or a new mens park board. I'm average female height, 10.5 stone and ride quite aggressively, but I'm wondering whether a softer flexing (womens specific) board would be a good next move since I enjoy rails and such. I currently ride a mens board and haven't had the opportunity to test out a womens board.

What's been putting me off getting a womens board for years is the way they are so often marketed as: "With this board you'll ride as well as the guys" or "this board will look great on the slopes" as opposed to actually telling you what it's designed to do.

It's true. Where else would I find a flat surface if I suddenly realise my clothes are messed up from falling over all the time.

Ha yeh..ironing board, not heard that b4

Tanky I'm with you on the womens board front. Never had much of an opportunity to try one out and they never give you a proper spec on them.
Im using a mens Ride DH just now, its a great board but ...I think i need a smaller sorfter board for sure.

Was lookin at This seasons Roxy Silhouette and the Endevour Boyfriend series, they look pritty sweet.

Hmmm yeah. It would be useful to be able to demo a whole lot of boards, or at least have a look at all the potentials in a good shop. Generally the shops I've been in seem to have beginner womens boards. Way too soft.

For my weight and riding style I'd go for a mans board (67kg/ 10.5 stone).

For my foot size (6) I'd go for a womans board.

It seems to me womens boards are going to be too flexy, and mens boards are potentially a bit too wide. Maybe a stiffer womans twin tip would be the way to go? Any suggestions?
