So is no one of here going? I'll be there but I would have thought as they are only a 14 hour drive away there'd be more brits going... shocking.
Anyway, enjoy the websites but get saving for next year. |

The Winter X Games is always held in Aspen. It's a very American competition really and there is usually very little coverage of it in Europe.
ESPN (American Broadcaster) launched in Europe & the UK last year, mostly due to having bought rights to show football. It's a subscription based channel (I have Sky & The Sports Package for example, but this would cost extra) and obviously they are trying to get money out of people, and I believe having an ESPN European X Games is part of that.
There are plenty of big names at the event & more European riders.
You are supposed to be able to see it here: http://winterxgameseurope.canalplus.fr/
However, it's only a looping highlights video in French. But then I noticed the 'Live' button at the top and was watching the 2nd run of the Men's Slopestyle until I accidentally closed the browser and now the 'Live' button doesn't do anything and there is a countdown next to it. |

I think the clue is in the big bit of text in the middle of that grab saying " We're sorry this video cannot be viewed in you country".... |

Just a quick update, I am up at the X Games in Tignes right now. Anyone else at the games this week. Today it kicked off with slope and pipe. Some great moves and big wipe outs. The snowmobile demo was fun to watch waiting to see if they stacked it.
Must give it a go one day.
Gota go the party goes on!!! |

This live streaming works much better than yesterday. http://www.canalplus.fr/pid3399.html
It's got the proper US commentary on it as well. Infact, quite funny as they went for a commercial break, presumably for ESPN, but it kept the same broadcast footage of the slopes on this stream, but the mics that Kier & the guy had not been switched off. So you could here them bitching about the replay angles. |

Kier Dillion & the other guy were pronouncing it like that as well.
That clearly was the full ESPN UK feed though that's available on the Canal+ website. I'm a little confused, as to why its freely available though? Because ESPN is subscription based, the whole reason I can't watch it on Sky, but I can just watch it online for free & not even have to watch the ad breaks. hmmmm....... |

I hope that isn't the case for all ESPN coverage, considering I have just taken out a Sky subscription on the basis of getting ESPN....... |

I can see the listings for the coverage of it on the channel schedule, however even with the Sky Sports package, you don't get it, it's an extra subscription. |

Yes thats exactly what im saying, ESPN have the rights to show some premier games in the uk but they aren't allowed to show them on their website as that would break liscening agreement with the Premier league and Sky who are the 'hoste' broadcaster in the UK. However they can get away with showing the X Games on their website here as it doesn't have a broadcaster in the uk so there is no agreement for who can and can't broadcast it |
