Excellent plumped for the vans encore boots and a set of k2 Indy bindings now all I need is a pair of boarding trousers, my board serviced and to actually hit the slopes, xscape for starters, and enjoy.

Can't wait!!!

Any suggestions on where I can pick up some bottoms on the cheap?

Thanks again for the help

TK Max is decent for cheap gear, not sure how well they stock it in the summer though. Matalan too usually have some cheap Trespass Gear. failing those, try eBay or any decent snow-store with a good sale on

just make sure you can try the boots on before you buy them!

and if the boots that fit are more expensive than the ones that kind of fit; save up and get the ones that fit the best, there's nothing worse than badly fitting boots..

Right just a quick update since you guys have been sooo helpful.

Board is now serviced and picked up and set up with my bindings and some lessons booked for a week on Sat at Xscape in Glasgow...might as well do it right and get some proper instruction and maybe even pick up some good habits before I go and do the silly fun stuff...show me something to sail off and I will be happy.

Can't wait I am wetting myself in anticipation!!!

Mountain Warehouse on Sauchiehall St in Glasgow is doing a sale just now, lots of 2-for-1 offers. I got beanies and thermal underwear, but saw wicking shirts too, plus random equipment you might like.

Cheers mate I had a look previously but there didn't appear to be much on auction wise but def worth keeping an eye out and maybe pick up a couple of bargains.

This saying yes on a whim to a free snowboard has ended up rather expensive...bring on actually hitting the slopes and it'll all be worth while.

So I had a full day lesson at Xscape at Braehead in Glasgow on Saturday, excellent day and really got into it. Ended the day with linked turns top to bottom of the proper slope without wiping out my last 3 runs although lots to improve on...if I look at the snow I end up in it so need to sort that out.

Robbie was a top instructor...helped me tweek my setup all day and it ended up riding really well.

But basically I am hooked it was awesome fun so I'll now trying to work out which night during the week I can fix work in such as way as to get along.

Thanks again for all the help everyone.
