just got back from the alps to find that the dirty baggage mis-handlers have destroyed my board!
just in front of the front bindingd there is a massive groups of cracks that run from one side to the other. the top layer seems to have completely shattered and the board now flexs in the wrong direction. i've tried to take a photo but its very unclear.
has anyone seen something like this before and do you think it could be repaired or just retired?? |

Yup i'd raise a claim with the baggage handlers ASAP anyway, then speak to your travel insurance co..... Dont hang around!
Without seeing pics it's hard to say if the board's buggered...but if the board bends the wrong way then they've damaged the core.
Dont try any repairs until the insurance co's have made a decision. |

i've sent the claim off already so i'm waiting for that to get sorted.
i kind of thought that it was pretty much destroyed but wasn't sure. it only flexs slightly in the wrong direction, more than it should do but i'm not sure if this is because the top sheet is not providing any rigiditiy any more allowing it to flex the way it is or if the core has snapped or something.
i might take it to a board shop that does reapirs and see what they say
cheers guys |

If you can get the shop to write down what they think the damage is (especially if the board's done).... promise to bring your insurance cheque to them for it's replacement
When you say flexes the wrong way do you mean the camber shape is different??... if so then yes, some of the core has probably been damaged.... the topsheet alone should not affect the camber. |
