sure, i would go with 'hands on' i found that even minimal contact help balance, concentration and confidence. espically with front edge side slipping and full turns, where your pupil turns around you and you let thier inside hand 'rest' on yours, no need to hold them. As for picking them up off the floor .... well 1 or 2 times max, else you spend 3/4's of the lesson picking them up because they 'expect' you to do it, once you let them know that it is part of the lesson for them to 'learn' to beable to stand up on their own all is ok. |
