Hi,

Me and my friends are booking a self catered holiday to tignes and just wondered how many supermarkets there are in the town to make our own food. Also what food do they sell? Is there much fresh produce or food that is cheap quick simple and easy to make? Any examples of food and prices would be much appreciated.

Thanks

How are you getting there?

if you can manage a stop in Borg Saint Maurice there are a few decent supermarkets you can pick up a weeks shopping in.

in Tignes there's basically the spar. its a decent little shop and stocks most things you will need but prices will be at least double those down in Borg.

were getting there by connecting coach from our plane company so i dont think there will be an oppurtunity to stop on our way through. How far is Borg Saint Maurice? an affordable taxi journey or not really?

Thanks again

Theres also 2 Sherper supermarkets in Val Claret. The Spar in Le Lac is the best, but they all sell everything you need to eat and cook well for a week in Tignes. Get to them early for nice fresh bread or arange for it to be deliverd.

No, it's not worth getting a taxi from Tignes to do your shopping in Bourg (it's probably 40 minutes away).

The supermarkets aren't cheap, but they do stock pretty much everything you need whether you want to cook everything from scratch or have a microwave ready meal.

I'm off to Tignes on 6th Feb ...see you there?

I heard that there isn't much in the town, but there are more slightly cheaper places (as has been already said) just outsdie the Vally.
