#1 The "Who's the oldest/How old are you thread." Posted 24/03/2008 @ 15:47 |

I've just booked my second week away this year, I'm off on Saturday to Morzine/Avoriaz. I must admit I booked this second trip as I'm feeling old and not sure how many years I'm going to really feel like snowboarding, so making the most of 'now'.
Before you ask, I'm not THAT old just yet, a meare 42, but I do wish I was 20 yrs younger. So, my reason for starting the thread, is how old are you? Is there anyone older than me on here, or at least anyone willing to admit it! |

Im not quite as old as you (41) but im pretty sure im going to be doing this for a long time yet!
What annoys me is kids getting to the same stage as me in a matter of days not weeks
Hint... if you have kids DONT let them come to the mountain with you... it gets REALLY expensive!

Firstly i'm 25 so age is still of no concern but i don't think you guys in your 40's need worry quite yet! I just got back from Fernie, Canada where we were riding loads of powder so it was a tiring trip with 10 days on the slopes.....to the point, one of the guys that comes with us is my mates Dad and he's 53 (i think) and to be fair he spends as much time as anyone on the the slope for the first 6 days then slows a little but still i think that pretty impressive. We're talking 0900-0930 through to 1530-1630 each day with a 30-60 mins for lunch.
Guess i have 28 more seasons till i'm limited to 1 week trips! |

Hi there youngster..... I'm 43! by bf is 50!! he learned to board with me in Avoriaz in February! Came on a treat and was getting down the blues with no fear by the end of the week! He's now hooked and looking forward to next year! I just came back from Banff last week after a 2 wk hol with a bunch of people ranging from 28 to my age and its safe to say that our stamina matched that of the 'youngsters' no problem!! Remember, age is only a number! Forget the number and enjoy it for what it is, while you can! |

Check out graysontrays.com an "online resource for adult snowboarders and adults who are interested in riding, whether novice or advanced"...mainly north america focused. |

I'm 37 (38 v soon). Have been boarding about 8 years . Pulled my first 180 last year, and my first 360 this year. 360's still need some work mind. I'm sure i would have got there quicker if I'd tried harder sooner. Injuries seem to last longer and hangovers more damaging. Otherwise I intend to improve every year for at least the next ten. |

This oldgit is 50. Just back from a week in Banff and pleased to say that I can still board all day. Tend to leave the big jumps to the youngsters as I don't bounce as well as I used to. Can still get down the hill ok and still learning to do better. Looks like us older types are out in force. |

Your only as old as you feel (or as the person you feel).
I feel younger at 32 (last week) than i did when i was 28! |
