It's a Darkstar 09/10, man and was highly recommended by a very very experienced guy. I couldn't believe how soft it was compared to my Flow Team. Always wondered why people could lift one foot off the floor and I couldn't. Thought I had really weak legs, but it was the board the whole time
Glad you like the jacket, thanks. I snapped out of the "don't wear bright colours cos everyone can see you" way of thinking.

Bah so close! I was certain it was one or the other!
I looked at it but was probably on the little expensive side for my first board. I'm pretty happy in the short team though as the Hatchet has been a good all-rounder, but next year I may want something a bit softer if I lean towards jib/park - I'm hoping to demo the new darkstar and parkstar though if TSA get them in.
Think of it this way it gives you a reason to put in some more leg work in at the gym!
Most of my normal and work clothes are pretty smart (read: boring) so its nice to get some color back in to the wardrobe with boarding

Yep, i'm at the gym this week and probably next week as well. Not likely to have many days this side of Xmas in the week cos I need to save annual leave for next year.
---------
I can't do all that rail stuff so the freestyle nights are out of the question. Can't practice unless the box is out and sometimes they prefer to put the pipe out for people to kill themselves on
Maybe i'll try calling and asking for a mellow kicker and a box one time.

Just got back from my first park night! It was a nice atmosphere to learn not too busy. Very impressed with some of the riders there. Managed to conquer the little box big box (at the same time) c box some neat little indy grabs off the kicker and a few 1's and a couple of 3's. Stayed away from the rail and gaspipe for now
Need to learn how to press tho keep catching my toe edge and the board just goes away! Pretty much nailed 50/50's tho i.e. approaching correctly.
Widened my stance to 24" tonight and to be fair it was hella comfortable.

Were there many beginner freestyle people there, though? Cos it wouldn't be nice if the whole dome could do stuff and i'm struggling with a 50-50
I've heard that there isn't always a kicker. I think i'm going to have to stick with sunday daytimes for now and pray that the usual girl makes the kicker. Otherwise I just sprain my wrists every single time.

Not really - only me I think! I didn't feel like a knob though even with 13/14 year old kids and girls popping tricks like you wouldn't believe
There was one beginner there but I think he was just practicing riding and not using the toys.
When I tried going over a kicker abroad I feel flat on my face - at least I can successfully land when I'm not spinning.
Fall on your head! It's harder than your wrists!
