For the indoor slopes such as snozones, do I really need to take my proper boarding jacket or will i be fine with some sort of rideable hoody? Never been to one before, so was just wondering

Depends how much you crash. If you throw yourself on the floor a lot then a hoody will get wet and then you'll get cold whereas a shell jacket will keep you dry but you may get too warm. I ride indoors with a base layer and a fleece - both man made materials - so when I bail (fairly regularly on freestyle nights) they shake off & dry pretty quick. I keep my cotton hoody for changing into after riding.

I wear a long sleeved t-shirt and a normal hoodie at Braehead and I ride there fairly regular.

The bottom can get a little wet when I bail (which is a regular occurance) of the kickers or rails, but I never find it a problem

Defo no need to wear your full jacket unless you really want to.

technical hoody is okay but sometimes you can get very cold if standing still for a while

I'll probably crash pretty often. I'm pretty rubbish at the moment, so I'll probably take both and see.

Cheers guys.

I find I get too hot with my jacket although it does keep me drier...

Normally wear a base layer and one of my old hoodies I don't mind getting wet. A lightweight waterproof jacket would be great, but I'm skint!

I wear my normal snowboard jacket with a t-shirt underneath. That's easily warm enough, and as a bunch of other people have said, you'll be ok with a hoody

I guess the main thing is, even if you go for the slightly colder/wetter option of a hoody, you aint gonna freeze, so you could just take your jacket next time if you didn't like it...

i usually went to hemel in a tshirt and ski jacket, last week i got so hot i left jacket at the bottom of slope so i was just in a my tshirt, i didnt even get goose bumps. i woulld bring only a tshirt and a hoody for before im warmed up. for legs id still bring ski trousers, so you can still sit or kneel in snow.
Y'know, yellow snow doesnt taste that bad....
