Hey - anyone know of any decent hills in north wales for boarding this weekend? Im thinking around the Mold/Moel Famau/Clywdians area, but im not sure of where to go, i.e. need a grassy slope rather than a heather covered slope! Well pumped for some outdoor boarding in the mother land this weekend! Hopefully someone local can help.. cheers gwilly |

ive seen the vids on youtube etc, and know there must be some good slopes in that area, just hoping someone who knows the area better than me can point me to a particular hill/location, Ill be heading there anyway but would be nice to spend more time boarding and less time driving around. Went to Horseshoe pass, it was cool man. Theres a few small kickers now, and tons of snow. You can probably get a 400m run in if you hike to the top. Its best to board lower down on the walked path, at the top there lots of heather and the snow is knee deep so we just concentrated on the mid section, well worth a visit, there were about 15 boarders there, hope u have a great day tomorrow. Sounds cool. Glad you found a good spot. Was it smooth underneath, no rocks or anything ? I'm thinking of heading out somewhere tomorrow, whereabouts is the slope ? Cheers gwilly. |

I did get up to Horseshoe Pass today, opposite the Ponderosa. It was well busy; quite a few boarders and hundreds of sledgers. There's still a fair amount of snow and untouched sections, but didn't think the slope was really steep enough to make the most of it. The mid section was the best bit like you said gwilly, but was getting chopped up with all the footfall. I hiked to the top and rode right down a couple of times and it definitely made the runs feel more substantial. Anyone else there today ? |
