Hey everyone!
was wondering...
what are the problems that bug you the most while snowboarding?
1. snow build-up on base-plate
2. iced up ratchets
3. having to sit in the ice or bend over to strap in
4. snapping ladders
5. how expensive equipment is
or are there any others?

hope you are all doing good!

The Heel lift issue that I could never manage to solve, tried everything, various differing makes of boot, tightening everything to the point my foot nearly fell off, seemingly to no avail to moment I went on my toes i could feel my heel slip in the boot and foot pain.

never being able to fully eliminate the foot pain/heel lift over 6 years despite several different pairs of boots and hours spent with fitters.

In the shops, moving around... absolutely fine, on the slope heel lift and foot pain...

I’ve found heel lift can be corrected with a few technique changes.
Try without your board attached, toes relaxed, flat footed, try to pressure the balls of your feet without your heels leaving the floor, pushing the hips forward helps.

whoops didn't mean to double post, I forgot I'd responded to it

Cheers I'll see how it goes in the new year, going to Castleford as it's only an hour away. Am going to use that to get my boarding legs back and work on my technique - hopefully as you say it will be something i can eliminate.

It did gradually get better but was always there.

yes,
technique
you dont want to get on your toe edge by trying to stand on tip toe! Thats to much force in the boot. Likely to loosen the laces & your heel will lift.
bend your knees instead & move hips forward. Your heel will naturally lift

take your shoes off. Stand flat footed
Now rock forward & back. Movements through the ball of your foot.
Now do the same with your boots on!

Dont ttry to tippy toe for toe side, but do lift your toes for heel side

Two recurrent problems

1.Riding buddies,

Have met some great peeps on this Forum, that all said and done finding keen, no drama, powder munchers that just get up and go on a good forecast is always a problem.

Guess real life gets in the way of all the best intentions.

Can't think of a single season without some form of let down/dissapointment.

2. Unreliabe Snow. Even my trip to Japan got skunked with rain. Still manage to get more Powder days than most but I just need more cos im greedy.
.
Snowboarding ruined my life
