It's a bummer you guys dont do Chill factore. In fact it's a much larger bummer that I now live in Wales and there isn't a whiff of a dome for miles around. According to your site it says you 10 weeks off on-snow experience and 35 hours of lesson shadowing to achieve BASI L1! Is this true!? How strict are these limits? |

Snowboardcoach would love to do them at chilli but its out of there hands , politics etc ..if he could he would ...... i will pass on your enquiry to Ash this week when i see him over in Bansko .
Best way to get pre course practice is to sign on at a dome or dry slope and do pre BASI 1 shadowoing , then you do have to do 35 hrs of shadowing after you do the course , can be in a dome or dryslope also ..And the hours etc are all logged so now way round it ...well worth it all . |

Hi Ben E
Yeh it s ashame its just down to logistics so totally out of our hands I'm afraid. Mind you if you ever think of say Tamworth then let me know, we liase with the them to try and get people travelling hooked up and sharing costs of the new hotel thats just been built next to the slope. Can be a as little as £20 a night with breakfast and sving a slope ticket could work out not to far off.
The shadowing is very strict and you must do 35 hours after doing the course. As winterfun said its logged and signed. To be fair its worth it as you see how the place operates and it gets your face known which is all good if you then apply for a job there. Which wouldn't happen if you tried to fudge it.....
As for the time on snow, thats not too strict but the more you have the better the chances of passing. I'm not just saying this but if you havent had the snow time then look at one of our performance courses to get you up to speed and let you know what you need to work on in order to pass the level 1.
Hope that helps |
