I was at Nevis Range today. Quadchair closed due to high winds. Snow was well sticky, coverage not as good as earlier in the week just after it dumped down. Still a good day out though, plenty runs but had to avoid a few rocks. Ah, good old Scottish snowboarding!

I was up last weekend. Good coverage but i found the snow really sticky. A good waxing is needed before visiting! Crowds were fine and didnt have a wait for any tows. Well worth a late season visit

Could be stormbound Nevis have a new pisten bully, Gorm's are blasting artificial snow. About time they reinvested some funds after two great seasons recently.

Also seen that the 'Coe now has a snow cannon.

Nevis and Glencoe are opening Friday whether dependant. I might keep an eye on conditions as I'm free the weekend after. Road Trip?!?

I think Coe are delaying opening till Saturday once the storm passes. Nevis may open too on Sat. Gorms should get a decent dump over the weekend as well. This coming storm looks set to bring a two or three day dump across the highlands.

Little extract from their mailing list.

Glencoe Mountain Update - 7th Dec 2011

We are delighted to announce that we will be opening at 10am on Friday 9th of Dec for the 2011/2012 ski season. (Weather permitting). The forecast for Friday is a little stormy but we appreciate how desperate some of you are to get out and slash up some powder so we will do everything in our power to be open Friday. We plan to open 7 days a week now until the end of the season weather and snow permitting.
