Well, I'm off to pick my 163 up in Boulder tonight, and I'm hitting Buff Pass near Steamboat for some snowmobile tow-in this weekend. Supposed to be good conditions, snowing till Saturday... I'll write a report on Monday. |

So, ended up at Vail Pass, a bluebird day, lots of powder, and the Stick rocked - it's all about the rocker. |

The board has "RLNK", which apparently means "rediculously long nose kick'. It is, wait for it, like a rocker. It's a stable board, with appropriate flex for powder, and handled well on the sled tow. Bods, if you are interested, let me know, and I'll review it.
PS. Sorry about the editing, I didn't want to seem too unpleasant. |

I didn't notice it when I demoed it as I said I did bellow, can't quite see why you would have anything unpleasant to say in response to that but I guess it takes all sorts. It's not mentioned on salomons website and the rep who gave me it to demo didn't say anything about it either, which us why I questioned the rocker thing. Simples |

QUOTE (basin - 11/03/2010 @ 03:57) The board has "RLNK", which apparently means "rediculously long nose kick'. It is, wait for it, like a rocker. This is what I meant when I said (on another thread) that rocker is a bandwagon that all manufacturers feel they need to jump on. Every snowboard has a nose that tips up. So now that consumers have been told they must have a board with rocker, what do you do if you are a manufacturer and your board has camber - call it "nose rocker".
Having said that, I laid a Fish down on a table the other day and looked at it in profile. The cambered bit starts under the front foot, so the bit that is cambered is quite short. Haven't ridden it yet. Interesting. |
