I'm 5'9'' 162lbs
Been advised over these 2 boards, Can pick up stepchild for £235 or the Rome agent for £270, what would u guys advise? or would you advise something completely different?

Bit out of the price range you described though. |

So it's neither of the boards he's asking for advice between, and it's not in the price range he's working within either? |

At 5'9" and 73kgs I'd probably suggest a 155.
Regarding the board choice: I bought an Agent '85 this year and I think it's great BUT I've now decided that I would probably prefer something a little more flexible for general clowning around on. It's entirely down to personal preference though so I won't try to recommend one board over another, you can get a good deal on a fairly broad range from http://www.sierrasnowboard.com though and shipping to the UK usually only takes a few days. |

Go for a 155 or 156 depending on what brand your going for Don't get a stepchild, I demo'd a few of their board and they are as rigid as hell! The Rome Agent or Machine are great fun... really powerfull boards, flexible, park intro boards, fun in the pow! Those or... Burton Custom, Salomon Answer... etc.
Ive tried the 390 bindings... they're great, really durable and lasted me 4 months of non-stop riding before the base plate shattered but if you only ride a week or two a yr then they'll last! |

I would take a look at the nitro t1 its a monster of a board, you can probably get it a bit cheaper than you are going to pay for the boards you are looking at. |
