Ahh/eurgh, its a fixy. was a bit SE silly back in the day. Hacks included PK Ripper, Quadangle and a Floval Flyer (which always felt too big).

Hi peeps,

Got a couple of bikes for sale. Bought on a whim and the Mrs and myself have only been out on them twice. Now taking up too much room in the house.

Electra retails for approx £450

Any interest just drop me a line with any offers.

Ta.

I'll be riding most of that route before they get here We'll be putting together a 'special' week in the chalet, couple of days of riding doing some of the cols on the route, day watching the race, day either chilling in town on the riders rest day or just some round town stuff to see who's out training (they even ride on their rest day!), then watch the start on the third day, followed by another col or two... that kind of thing.

Good to see they're finishing it up in Avoriaz this year but a shame they're not heading up the Joux Plan - wanted to compare my time against theirs

I'm kinda butting in here, but it seems vaguely relevant. I'm spending this winter season in Morzine (well, till early March at least).

I'll mostly be snowboarding (obviously), but that never seems to push my fitness. I do a lot of running and cycling at home. I know if I don't keep up some sort of full on exercise I'll just spend all my time boozing, eating cake, and dancing to 80s cheese. This'll definitely be fun for a while, but in the long run I'd regret it.

I'm planning on getting myself some cross country skies and doing some skating on a regular basis, as I tried it a couple of times and it was an absolute killer. But does anyone know what the roads are like throughout winter in morzine? Is it possible to get some running in or is it just too snowy? Being as it's fairly low altitude maybe it's not so bad? And should I bother bringing my road bike or would that be absolute carnage? My lovely mountain bike got nicked last week so I can't take that

I don't really want to take enough kit for a pentathlon with me as I'm gonna be sharing a room with several other people!

you'll be fine running, road bike for part of the season (very early December, and maybe part of March/April). All of that is obviously completely dependant on the weather... some seasons it hasn't been possible to get out on a road bike until the very end of April at the earliest, other times, if there's a dry spell you can get out in January/February (just wrap up warm and don't try to ride over any cols ).

There's a gym in the palais du sport that you can buy a season pass for as well.

Hope that helps!

Cool, thanks for that! If I can run most of the time then that'll do me. I think I'd be seriously ashamed to use a gym whilst living in an alpine resort. Bring on the altitude training! And the inevitable falling over after my post-run beers!
