Bit of an odd one this... I'm thinking of doing a bit of a road-trip this winter (as well as my usual trip to Morzine ) and visiting some of the smaller, less known, resorts in France and Switzerland. Does anyone have any advice on where to go (and maybe where not to go)? |

If the snow is good, try the French Pyrenees (and the Spanish side). A lot of people don't realized (aside from Andorra) a there are lots of resorts down there - a whole row from the Atlantic to the med! Gourette and La Mongie on the Altantic side are well worth it - further in, no idea |

If you're going to be in the Pyranees, try some of the Spanish resorts out. Baqueira Beret is very nice, great runs and when it snows - excellent off-piste. Did a season there a few years ago and the best thing was that he Spanish like to have lie-ins so if you got on the first lifts in the morning you had everything to yourself! |

I thought at one point I must be the only GB'er to have done the pyrenees other than Andorra for a while then.
Thats where were going and will also do Cauterets,Touremalet and Artouste while were at it. And I now know for sure Gourette has its own snow park. |

If you end up down that neck of the woods. The Eastern Pyrenees have some great little resorts: Les Angles, La Molina, Massella, Ax les Thermes etc. Not really places where you'd want to spend a whole week in any one of them but doing a day or two in each of them is good. Done quite a few trips down there. Makes a nice change to the big resorts in the Alps. Slopes tend to be empty during the week as well. You can always break that up with a night or two in Pas de la Casa to get some beers and party time in. |
