anybody being watching "Peak season" on MTV. Basically "The Hills" but set in whistler.
Proper trash, with some real duschbags in it , but its snow based and shows off a bit of whistler.
The aussie dude is a proper tit.

Having been to most of the bars in it guess I mighyt be a bit biased.
Slipsliding is not boarding! Turn damn it!

Its the biggest pile of sh*t I've seen.

I was sat in a bar last season when they were filming and everyone kept shouting to mess the shots up.

One night in GLC a fight kicked off with the people in the program and my mates, sadly for the people in the program my mates are friends with the door men so they were the ones left in there haha

Oh dear, this is the first I've seen of this....

Shocking stuff which is all about the relationships rather than anything really to do with riding. Though saying that, in the two years I spent in Whistler, there were a good number of people I knew who were there for the lifestyle rather than the riding.

There was also a proper dramatized TV series by CTV, which they were filming back in 2005/2006 called 'Whistler'. It might be a little hard to find now, but all the filler shots were shot around town and on the mountain, then there were a few shots where they filmed the actors actually in town, rather than on a set. I saw them shooting on the bridge by The Brewhouse one time. It was about a pro snowboarder who mysteriously dies, it ran for two seasons.

The Hills in a ski resort has been tried before though, funnily enough BBC Switch beat them to it, if you think 'Peak Season' was bad, just wait until you see this.

'The Season' was filmed in exactly the same kind of style about a bunch of 18 year olds on their gap years in the Alps. I watched one episode and the only riding that occurred was to show them go from one bar/restaurant to another, where the girls chatted about relationships. Then there was like the best pro snowboarder who talked about how he could have any girl he wanted..... please

If ever I needed a reason not to go anywhere near Whistler, this program is it.

Caught my missus watching it last night and all the crappy drama sh*t that they're building in, as has been said, making it "The Hills" on snow just makes me not wanna go there.

Decent snow and a mellow, laid back, trouble free atmosphere is what I want (and generally get) when I go away. Why would anyone want to go through all that crap!
