Just wondering what others do for their boarding/ski holidays? This is the first year that I have done a DIY whereby I have sourced each part of the holiday myself (flight, transfers, accommodation, eqpt and passes) and discovered that I have halved the cost of my usual go to package provider.

I left organised packages years ago. Sick to the back teeth of BS staff who know less about resorts than we do, and when things go wrong are too inept to fix anything.

I've never done a package deal, always sort it out myself. There are some great package deals around if you are prepared to wait till last minute and maybe aren't too fussy about where you go. Personally those deals aren't for me though

We used to do a mix, depending on what we wanted, how much time we had to organise etc. I got a ridiculously cheap package deal the first time I went when I learned in Borovets.. we paid £199 for flights, hotel, transfers and half board accommodation.

DIY can be cheaper - we did Les Arcs in a catered chalet for £415 each inc travel and trfr, but there was 16 of us, we took the whole chalet so I negotiated a discount , we travelled on Eurostar and I negotiated a discount on that too. So it really does depend on your aims/wants/needs/budget. Budget flights booked in advance, a self catering apartment with a group sharing and doing their own cooking can work out cheaper.

I'm hoping to go next year for the first time in years, I'll probably end up with a last minute package as i'll have a budget and set weeks off from work.

Hi guys. Looking to go to Colorado next feb, just wondering where the best place to get lift passes are? Looking to base in frisco and either ride cooper mountain, Breckinridge or Loveland. Possibly a mix. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks ??

As a baseline, try American Ski Classics. They usually know about any early bird discounts.
