Revision #1 (Last edited: 16/04/2010 @ 11:43) |
I'm a newbie snowboarder and was given a board by a friend to use next Friday (23/04/10 ) for my all day lesson at Tamworth Snowdome. The problem is the board needs servicing and has a chunk of wax out of the base and a small nick to the base
I've contact a few places and listed the results below, I'm hoping someone out there has a better solution? this info was gathered from phoning individual stores.
Boardwise (Cannock) - £30 Full Service, Done on site 2 day turn around. Con 80 Mile round Trip.
Snow & Rock (Birmingham City Centre - £30 Full Service, Repairs extra, 2 Week turn around.
Two Seasons (Solihull) - £30 Full Service, Sent to Head Office, Min 2 week turn around.
The Snowboard Asylum (Tamworth Snowdome) £30 Full Service, 2 week turn around.
Thats all I can find so far if anybody has any other places they can recommend please leave the details here. |

thats a liquid you rub on the base for extra speed it wont repair wax holes. As soon a you rub it on it evaporates leaving a thin clear film over the wax.
Marks on the wax or even bits missing wont have any effect on how it rides, you wont even notice its there. |

QUOTE (inactive_16115 - 16/04/2010 @ 12:39) Marks on the wax or even bits missing wont have any effect on how it rides, you wont even notice its there. The bit im worried about is where the wax has been taken down to the base and there's about 1/2" scrape of paint missing, i dont want to use the board for the day and the moisture get in to the damaged base and write the board off after 1 day. |

as long as you dry it afterwards then it'l be fine, i really wouldnt be so paranoid about it. If you leave a damaged board wet for ages then yes it can do damage but a couple of hours isnt going to kill it as long as its dried properly afterward. |
