I have only been in Feb.

In this thread, Hutchy says that March still has plenty of snow and bluebird days

There are a few people on the forum who live out there or have done seasons. Maybe contact some of the names in this thread and they should be able to tell you

Nice one em

Can i add, this legendary thread:
Mike Pow's Hokkaido Season

And a bit of info:
SnowJapan Niseko

I think you'll find you'd be better off going in March than April. In April there's still usually plenty of base and some fall howevel some resorts and lifts start stupidly shutting down in April like Hanazono.

Yes i went late march 09 and had an epic time, Slightly worreid when we arrived and it was raining but higher up it was all snow.
Overall had more cloudy days than bluebird but still had a heck of a lot of snow (ableit wet snow) most mornings would find a fresh 15cm.

Thanks. My pleasure. Everyone should be so lucky to experience Hokkaido pow.

The past 4 Februarys from my records:

Feb 07 - 235cm
Feb 08 - 291cm
Feb 09 - 277cm
Feb 10 - 260cm

Far more consistent and colder temps.

Quite busy this week must find time to study japan more and past posts, the depths say alot about europes holiday makers and what they really want.

Those feb stats look exceptionally good (insane) will check hutcheys stuff later, as got work.
It seems just a financial/location factor mostly so must look at this more before asking gumby questions.
Need a map for a start.
