If they do it at a discount rate for months it makes you wonder how much of the original price is just full on profit margin!

The place has made stonking losses to date mate - as in 9 figures. Had to get further long term finance of about 7m in 2010 to sort out cash flows. Personally, I'd be surprised if it's still open in five years unless they can seriously cull costs somehow. I reckon that on a good year, after smoothing out a few current issues, that place loses a million quid every time.

I know it might seem like a big evil corporation with expensive prices but the reality is that it's struggling like most other people and businesses.

True stuff I guess.

Doesn't help that unless you drive, it's a pain in the butt to get to. Though if you do drive parking can be a nightmare lol! Plus having a warm winter is probably just hurting it even more at this time of year.

The deals like the unlimited off-peak pass etc are decent prices though. Even just 2/3 hours peak isn't what I'd call extortionate but not ideal for me.

I think the prices are quite fair in terms of what it costs to provide the service but for your ordinary Joe like me, it's hard not to consider what else you could be getting for that money. I think therein lies the crux of the problem as it's the consensus among all the (5/6 lol) people I speak to.

As a non-driver I also find it a problem to get to and would probably go more often if there were better transport links from Liverpool. They cut the Trafford Centre bus when they built Liverpool One the bar stewards.

What do you do? Get the train across to Trafford park then bus/walk to CFe?

I always think of costs relative to contact time. Like magazines for example, I can't justify buying because I literally for 2 minutes then never touch them again. With the unlimited pass, if I can get 6-10 hours a week off peak in there then I think bargain! 30 ish hours a month for £56 isn't bad at all in my eyes. Its useless if you can't get there off peak. But I don't know what else personally I could waste that cash on a different way?

Saying this as a young student stereotype though. If I had electric bills, food to put in kiddies mouths and a mortgage maybe I'd see if abit different.

You ever ride in CFe in the week?

Hey,

I tend to read rather than write on this forum, but i would never dream of going to chill in peak time i have done it once and kicked my self. You spend 85% of your time waiting for the lift,
compared to off peak time like the wednesday morning session when there is ten people on the whole slope !!

Seems like a no brainer to me??
