#1 new board and junk!! Posted 12/07/2010 @ 13:28 |

Hey Guys,
Quick question at the moment I have a Signal OG (08/09) and Roma Targa (07/08 I think?!!?) Its a pretty stiff setup to be honest (and I am crap at snowboarding, so does not help)
Can you guys recommend anything for me as I am wanting to do more free-riding and dic*ing about on the mountin butterying jibbing. I have been told the bindings are okay (if not outdated) but the board if far to stiff for that kinda of stuff!? How true is this do people just want me to spend money on a new board any help is great guys!!
Also to you all by the way!!

Wait, you want to dick around doing butters and stuff, yet you want to do freeriding as well? I mean thats like two diferent ends of the spectrum..
For p*ssing around you want a soft punky board, preferably a jibstick or something, for freeriding you want a directional board, and quite a bit longer as well.
I ride a jibstick in powder, but I got a wide board so I can get away with it a bit easier. I couldnt imagine riding a powder board on park though.. |

yeah he's right your question is really confused. You're kind of aksing for a bit of everything. The board you have is fine, its directional but good for everything. The head Of TSA says its the best board available and the best all round board he's ever ridden, and thats high praise. Dont listen to what people say, try it out for yourself if you find it too stiff then practice. Its easy to just go buy a softer board and all think will suddenly be hunky dory but in reality you have a great board as it is and buying a new one would be wasting your own money. Yeah softer is easier to jib but its also crapper for riding around the mountain and anything but slow speeds. Its a play off between one and the other but dont just get a new board because someone told you to |

Your bindings are outdated. Get new ones. Heard good things about Flows. |

aaw I feel bad now
OP, your setup should be fine for a lot of riding. I would only buy a jib stick if your deck is significantly too long for you or if you and I would only buy a freeride deck if it is significantly too short.
The binders are good- they rarely break, comfy, responsive without being twitchy.
However, if you have lots of money, go ahead and buy a more specialised setup for either extreme. |
