#1 Morzine self catering ? Posted 29/06/2009 @ 10:10 |

Hey Guys,
Me and a few friends are looking at going to Morzine next year and are considering a self catering type holiday. Does anybody have any experience of this in that area that can tell me how to go about it. I assume you still book through a company of some sort ? If so, any suggestions on who to book with/avoid.
Cheers |

You don't have to book through a company. You can just google Morzine accomodation or look at the Morzine-Avoriaz website and book something direct. You'll probably find a car useful there as well, so (unless you're self-driving anyway) you can hire from the airport which will mean you don't need a transfer. Otherwise there are plenty of transfer companies. |

There's loads of self-catering options out here. We have Chalet Deffert which is right at the bottom of the slopes in the heart of the town centre. Other people like Jo at Oopalley on here have 'shared self catering' type places. You can also look at the Morzine website www.morzine.com and they have a central booking system on there although they tend to be the local owned places so just watch out for cleaning charges / lost security deposits etc.

We stayed with oopalley for a week in March. Apart from some noisy knob-head skiers on the first night, it was superb. The chalet is really handy for the Pleney lift, and only 5ish minutes walk to the Super Morzine. Also, if you're ending a day on the Morzine side, make sure you finish on Piste B for a sneaky shortcut to the chalet (was knee deep powder when we were there ) |

Try Hotel Igloo aswell dirt cheap and right next to the pleney, you dont really need a car you can book a transfer for fairly cheap and then there is a bus service from morzine to avoriaz and you can board everywhere else |

no worries Kip, just get in touch if you need any more info. Chalet Deffert is self-catering though so if you want any more info on that or the catered chalets just let me know.
